Choosing TOUGH Coatings
Tough Floor Coatings.
Independant tests are usually the best way of deciding how tough a floor coating really is. There are many claims. As a guide the industry refers to the 400 test. 400 being the highest level of theoretical wear and 0 being zero!!
On this theoretical scale 509 test results are rated to measure wear. In addition the 509 test has been pushed to the point of 50% wear to double check the results.
Our scale shows the following;
Traffic 379 [The toughest product available]
Two Pack 220
Mega 220
Oil 80-110
Alcohol Based 170
To independantly check this out simply go to web sites and look for 509 test results. The lowest number result is the best result.
We tried this recently and simply typed into Google the term 'Taber Test Results Floor Coatings' and got some great sites. All 509 results show Traffic ahead of the pack.
[ Extra note. Sometimes people refer to a CS 17 TEST. This test usually produces lower test figures so that if you compare one product on a CS17 against another taken on a 509 you might think wrongly that the CS17 result was a better product. For an informed choice you must see results all taken in the same way, using the same testing procedure or else you cannot determine the result. As a postscript please note the following: A CS 17 test was conducted recently and put Traffic so far ahead that it confirmed it's place beyond dispute as the toughest product available. ]
